King’s Award for Innovation 2024

Filtronic are delighted to announce that it has been honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise, for commercial success as a result of Innovation.

Filtronic is one of over 200 organisations nationally to be recognised this year with a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise, of which nearly 60 are earmarked for Innovation. Filtronic’s successful award entry focused on the design and manufacture of its Cerus 32 E-band Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) which is used to help provide communications for satellite communications. Cerus 32’s performance caught the attention of SpaceX who have placed significant production orders for use in their Starlink™ network.

Filtronic was founded in 1977, and specialises in RF, microwave and mmWave subsystems. Its E-band transceivers are used in 5G backhaul and finds applications in High Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS) and Low Earth Orbit (LEO satellites). New markets continue to be nurtured, leveraging its investments in other frequency bands such as Q, V and W.
