13 July 2023

Designer and manufacturer of RF-to-mmWave components and subsystems, Filtronic, has been awarded the prestigious IASME Governance Gold certification. This achievement showcases Filtronic’s unwavering commitment to robust governance practices, effective policies and procedures, and top-tier cybersecurity measures.

The IASME Governance certification, specifically designed for small and medium-sized businesses, is closely aligned with the esteemed ISO 27001 standard. This award positions the company exceptionally well for securing more contracts in their core markets including aerospace and defence.

The IASME certification includes essential cybersecurity measures, which encompass evaluating and mitigating risks, educating individuals and establishing effective policies and procedures. It also addresses significant resilience strategies and acknowledges the importance of complying with legal and regulatory requirements, such as GDPR.

The rigorous and thorough audit process, spanning several months, underscored Filtronic’s dedication to meeting the highest industry standards. Out of the accreditation’s bronze, silver, and gold statuses, Filtronic has proudly attained the highest distinction.

“Filtronic has been awarded a gold, which is not only rare but is an outstanding accomplishment, that not only highlights its organisational excellence but also sets a benchmark for others in the industry to aspire to,” commented Jason McWhirr from Omni who acted as the auditor.

Throughout recent months, Filtronic has implemented numerous upgrades to its systems, including multifactor authentication (MFA), strengthening cyber controls and tightening policy documentation, which have contributed significantly to the IASME Governance Gold certification.

“The remarkable success of this endeavor is a testament to the relentless efforts of various departments across the organisation, especially thanks to Ahmed Miah and Muz Hussain, who spearheaded the initiative,” commented Michael Tyerman, Chief Financial Officer at Filtronic. “Filtronic extends its sincere gratitude to all employees who played a vital role in this accomplishment, which is of strategic importance to the business, as we seek to execute on our growth plans in markets that demand strong governance and robust security in the supply chain.”
