Goods in Inspector/Stores Assistant
Location: Sedgefield
Reporting to: Stores Supervisor
Purpose of role
A dual role which involves goods in/finished goods inspection and supporting the stores department with receiving, kitting, and shipping.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Visual goods in inspection of raw materials and product.
- Conducts a variety of complex measurements and quality control inspections on products, materials, components, parts at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards.
- Feedback any quality issues to Production Operatives in a constructive manner
- Use Hawk measurement microscope to check CofC
- Reviews and analyses statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards
- Prepares and completes all necessary documentation for reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected and/or tested items
- Contribute towards the efficient planning and co-ordination of incoming goods, storage and dispatch
- Kitting work orders
- Organising and ensuring accurate and periodic cycle counts and stock takes
- Responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product and service within the Warehouse is maintained at the highest possible standards for the Production team and external customers.
- Any other reasonable duties.
Skills, attributes and experience
- Experience with MRP / ERP Systems is required
- Able to plan / prioritise day to day workloads, based on actual requirements
- Take lead role in identifying & implementing improvement opportunities
- Flexible approach to working hours to support business needs, shipping and customer demands
- Proficient user of all Microsoft packages especially Excel
