Filtronic provides a range of RF conditioning products to public safety networks that are used by first responders. These networks provide critical communications and require high reliability equipment to demanding specifications.


Public safety networks continue to receive good levels of investment as government and quasi-governmental agencies continue to expand existing networks.

Filtronic has served the US Project 25 (P25) Public Safety market with high-performance ceramic filter/combiners and RF conditioning products for a number of years. Having established a position of trust with our lead customer we are looking to grow our offering to this key market in the coming years as the trend from mainly voice to full data networks grows.

Our current product offerings in the public safety market are utilised in Land Mobile Radio networks. These networks are used by First Responders, including Police and Fire Departments. Our products are deployed extensively across North America, and across the globe where Land Mobile Radio networks are used.

Aerospace & Defence

The Aerospace and Defence market requires high-reliability communications and radar products.


As defence equipment spending targets higher frequency and more technically advanced radar and communications products, Filtronic’s manufacturing know-how and technical capabilities are of increasing interest to this market. 

In the aerospace and defence market, our principal products are Transmit Receive Modules for phased array radars, RF conditioning products as well as millimetre-wave subsystems. 

To support this sector, Filtronic has developed an advanced high-frequency RF semiconductor assembly and test capability based at our UK manufacturing site.

HAPS & LEO

As the worlds demand for data increases, the need for low-cost alternatives to traditional satellites has never been greater. In recent years a number of enterprises have commenced development of High Altitude Pseudo-Satellite (“HAPS”) platforms and Low Earth Orbit (“LEO”) Satellites.


These communications networks are being developed to overcome the limitations of terrestrial networks and bring the benefits of broadband internet to an ever-wider audience, and uses are both civilian and non-civilian.

High data rate, extended range communications links to these platforms are required and Filtronic is well positioned as a key supplier to this market.

As a result, Filtronic has seen major interest in using its transceiver expertise to develop new products, such as high-capacity wireless data links, for this evolving market sector.
