Filtronic has invested in full turnkey manufacturing operations to produce intricate components at high-volume at our UK site.

Filtronic provides customised solutions for complex frequency conversion, filtering and high power amplifiers for applications including tuners and jammers. Our expertise in hybrid design and assembly allows us to provide uniquely small and thermally efficient modules and sub-systems for harsh and mass-critical environments.

AESA Radar

Transmit and receive modules are the core components of an active electronically scanned array radar (AESA). Using microwaves this latest generation radar system enables the electronic steering of radio waves in multiple directions without moving the antenna. The TRM modules allow multiple signals to be transmitted and received simultaneously.

Electronic warfare (EW)

Electronic Warfare utilises the electromagnetic spectrum—signals such as radio or radar—to sense, protect, and communicate. It also enables the capability to disrupt RF or radar signals. Filtronic’s capabilities range a wide number of use cases including jamming and electronic countermeasures (ECM).

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV)

Filtronic have a range of capabilities within the radio and communications systems and subsystems of unmanned vehicles and drones. These solutions can be applied at ground station as well as on the vehicle and to counter UAV’s.   

Co-site interference mitigation

One of the primary challenges within defence communications is the risk of interference caused by malicious users. Filtronic are experts in interference mitigation, with a track record of recognition and response. Capabilities include the resolution and reporting of interference, whether they are intentional, such as signal jamming or unintentional sources.

Transmit and receive modules (TRM)

TRMs are used in electronically scanned radar systems. We have a track record of delivering high performance TRM’s used in AESA radars. Manufacturing TRM’s since 2011, we have the capacity for over 8,000 units per month.

RF filters

We have extensive expertise in developing microwave filters. Our products include metal cavity filters, ceramic, combline, interdigital, lumped element, suspended substrate, waveguide and thin-film filters. We are experts in filter topology, offering rapid prototyping and reduced development cycles.
